Rebounding Benefits

Back in early 2024, I heard that rebounding helps with sinus congestion and lymphatic drainage. The lymphatic system removes waste and toxins from the body. It doesn’t circulate on it’s though. There’s not anything in the body that helps pump it. It needs to be stimulated. There are a few different ways to stimulate it, but movement is a really big one. One easy and fun way to do it is with a rebounder. A rebounder is a mini trampoline. You can even get them with a handle bar. Since I was having sinus issues, I decided to give it a try. This is the one I have: BCAN 40/48″ Foldable Mini Trampoline Max Load 330lbs/440lbs. It’s on the lower end of price ranges. I try to use it about 5 days a week for 10 – 15 minutes. I’m not sure about the long term durability of it or how it holds up with heavier weight and usage, but so far so good for me.
I basically just jump up and down on it with varied intensity while watching a cooking show. There are also YouTube videos with full on trampoline workouts.

Benefits of rebounding include:

  • A NASA study done on ways to keep astronauts healthy, found 10 minutes of rebounding provided the same benefits as 30 minutes of running.
  • Rebounding is low impact with a low risk of injury and causes less strain on the joints while still being challenging and effective.
  • Provides a quicker recovery because there’s less of a strain on the body.
  • Improves coordination and balance.
  • Rebounding is a whole body workout where it works abs, glutes, legs and the back.
  • Builds bone density which is important as you age to help prevent osteoporosis.
  • Helps relieve stress by releasing endorphins which are feel good hormones.
  • The gravity changes when bouncing helps increase oxygen uptake (VO2 max).
  • Helps improve the immune system because it stimulates the lymphatic system, moving toxins out and improving circulation.

I love my rebounder. When I first started, I could feel it in my calf muscles. Over time those muscles have strengthened, which is a nice benefit.
Rebounding is a quick, easy and fun way to get some health benefits.

Challenge:
Think about buying a rebounder or trying one out if you know someone who has one. The one I purchased was around $100. There are some available for around $50. Others go up to a couple hundred dollars. If you’re not ready to get one now, add it to a list of future health improvement items to purchase when you are ready.
If you have one that you don’t use regularly, dust it off and use it a few times a week or more and see if you notice a difference in how you feel.
